Medical Tattoo Procedures

Camouflage tattooing is a procedure that assists individuals with disfigurements. This treatment has proven very helpful for patients wishing to minimize the emotional problems directly linked to their disfigurement by attempting to restore their appearance in a more permanent way. A medical tattoo treatment can be effective for individuals with:: Scars, Skin Grafts , Burn scarring, Cleft lip, Alopecia, Post mastectomy scars. Other permanent cosmetics can also benefit conditions such as vitiligo, stretch marks, cleft palate, scars, receding or distorted hairlines and more.

Case Study of a Female Burn Survivor

Burn disfigurement is a very challenging condition, the sudden change in appearance, the loss of identity, can be an overwhelming experience. Burn disfigurement alters the lives of those who suffer from it, as well as the lives of their family and friends.

Multirepanic Collagen Actuation technique also referred to as MCA or scar tissue relaxation, was used to release the scar tissue responsible for the tightness and to smooth its appearance as well as the colour implant to redesign the lip contour.

An Areola Reconstruction Testimonial…

“Hi, Margot, how are you? I’ve been meaning to send you an email for an age—but you know how times flies. The result is really good, so I want to thank you so much for it. It makes the world of difference! Of course I haven’t figured out how to attach the digi camera to the computer yet, but as soon as I do I will send you a photo.”

Every client is a new canvas…

The skin will not and cannot look ‘exactly’ like it did before the trauma, sometimes there can be a major pain factor and bring back memories of the trauma. Scars must heal at least 9 months to 1 year before re-pigmentation.

This is not normal skin – scar tissue is very different, you must avoid the sun as it can change the colour drastically, some scars will retain colour and some scars will not retain colour at all.

By restoring the appearance in a more permanent way, Colour Implants have proven very helpful for patients wishing to minimise the emotional problems directly linked to their disfigurement. Alopecia suffers  particularly have benefited greatly from the new, subtle techniques now used in Colour Implants in regard to eyebrows and eyeliners.

Multirepannic Collagen Actuation (MCA) and Needling is another variation of scar camouflage whereby the scar tissue can be treated using a tattoo machine to create collagen activation and the production of new collagen and melanin in the superficial skin. Keloid and Hypertrophic scarring cannot be camouflaged due to the possibility of raising it more. It however may be suitable for laser treatment.
